Rating : Fun & easy way to cook - Eric Ulmer, Oct 27, 2009
I bought this rotisserie about six months ago and love using it. I do wish that it would have come with a retractable cord for better storage but that is a minor inconvenience. I own several other cuisinart products and that was the main reason I chose to buy this rotisserie. I have been impressed with all my other cuisinart products and look forward to buying more products from them. This rotisserie is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to reassemble, the cost is reasonable, and it has an attractive but professional look to it. For the person that has limited cooking abilities I would recommend this product.
Rating : Great product - John H. Power, Oct 05, 2009
Works well. Easy maintenance. Just know that when you use it for a chicken the chicken will slump slightly on the stand. This does not happen with one where the chick is horizontal. Just a detail and cooking is not affected but this is still a nicer unit than my previous one. Perfect for roasts.
Rating : Cooks A Good Chicken Without Much Help From The Manual - Rick L. Parrish, Sep 10, 2009
This is not the Cuisinart solid construction that you knew in the 80's and 90's. It's not rickety by any means, but it falls short of the Cuisinart tradition. It cooks a good chicken, but if you want one more than 4 1/2 lbs it's hit or miss. The included cookbook doesn't even have a standard cooking chart for different foods. Just recipes that call for specific weights and rubs, etc. For the seasoned rotisserie cook this will not be a problem, but for the occasional roaster like myself you get a two hundred dollar piece of eye-candy (It does look sleek and modern) that you have to figure out the cooking times for on your own. One tip I see often recommended here is the brining and I will go along with that. I had never brined a chicken before and I WAS amazed at the results. The cookbook does have instructions for that. I just wish they'd done a guideline chart and it would have been a useful cooking tools for every level of chef.
Rating : IF YOU ENJOY DRY CHICKENS, GO AHEAD! - Wasim Irshad, Sep 09, 2009
I had such high hopes for this product and jumped on it when it was released. This will go down in history as my "impulse purchases" that were "bad purchases"! I love grilled rotisserie chicken. Having moved into a new house with all electric cooking, I was unable to prepare grilled rotisserie chicken. I started looking into alternatives and looked like Cuisinart had answered all my wishes, maybe!
I grew up in Abu Dhabi and dearly enjoyed the "shawarmas" (sandwiches) and the grilled "dajjaj" (chicken). The most critical part about the perfect rotisserie chicken is how tender and juicy the meat is. That requires high temperature that is even and moisture, which gas readily provides. The cuisinart does not get hot enough and strips the chicken of all its natural juices. The result is one dry chicken that I found despicable! The seasoning on the outside is completely raw and as is, the meat is dry and tastes like card board. If that is what you like, go for it! If you have never tasted the real thing (gas-grilled chicken), perhaps you will like the Cuisinart.
Rating : BEST ROTISSERIE? CUISINART! - C. Flynn, Aug 30, 2009
Our old rotisserie died after 15 years of use; and so I went on a search for a new one. Cuisinart's rotisserie fit my list of wants: easy to use and easy to clean; both of which are a snap. I also love the fact that it comes with a roast rack; chicken roaster rack; and kebab skewers. I can attest that it makes wonderful juicy pork roasts and roast chicken! We love it!
