Works fine. I don't use all the options it offers. We mostly enjoy fresh white basic bread. Got it for the rapid bake feature and smaller loaf size. The recipe book that comes with the machine is not all that, but their web site offers quite a bit more. My last Westbend bread machine lasted 12 years. It still works, but one of the spinner blades was starting to stick so I decided to be proactive and replace it before it did break down. The rapid bread is not as airy as the 3 hr loaf, but still o.k. in a pinch.

Most items can be put into two classes, it works or it doesn't work. This West Bend Bread Machine not only works, it excels at what it does and has yet to fail me. Out of 40 or 50 loaves, I've not had a failure which is more than I can say for some other brands I've owned. My last machine made more hockey pucks than loaves so this West Bend has been a very pleasant, and tasty experience.

Up until I dropped the bread pan, all I had to do was invert the pan to have the loaf drop out when finished. The loaves still come out easily but now the paddle sticks to the inside of the loaf. I can't blame this on the machine since I was the one who dropped and bent the pan. I'll be ordering a new pan in short order.

The West Bend not only bakes excellent loaves of bread, it has a very attractive brushed stainless and black finish which goes beautifully with all the stainless appliances in my kitchen. Instead of hiding it away when not in use, I keep it on the counter top all of the time which encourages me to use it often.

You won't be sorry with this purchase.

I have had 100% success with this bread machine. I love the rectangle shaped loaves. Highly reccomend this one!!

I received my new bread maker yesterday and tried a basic white bread recipe from the book provided. It baked fine although noisy when it was kneading like the knead bar was loose. While baking, the top of the loaf fell a little. Today I tried it again and this time it would not start, just made clicking sounds. I tried it several times. So I am returning it. I noticed that the knead bar is very loose in the pan and really doesn't go all the way down. I'm not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be. The instructions aren't very helpful.

It looked great when I opened the box, but when I added the ingredients and turned it on--chaos!! The light-up screen shows gibberish that doesn't correspond to anything in the manual, none of the buttons do anything useful, except for the up button. the down button doesn't even work. It makes dough great, but it'll keep on kneading it for hours if you let it. I've tried twice, and each time I get a lovely lump of dough that I have to bake in the oven. What's the point of having a breadmaker if it's only a dough maker?
