Console lights illuminate DJ consoles in indoor venues, where lights are usually dim and directional. They are usually attached to one side of a console and adjusted with gooseneck fixtures. Most of them connect to standard power sockets and have small, bright bulbs in lightweight metal or plastic frames.
Detachable lamps have spring-loaded clips that clamp onto the console. They are easily moved by sliding the clamp along the side or clamping them onto another location. They are ideal for DJs working in multiple venues or operating several consoles.
Permanent mount lamps
These lamps are screwed into the console casing using P-series connectors. They are commonly used in pairs on either side of the console. They are difficult to move after installation and are used in large in-house DJ consoles.
Length: Choose a console light with a long gooseneck arm. Look for those measuring 18 inches or longer for medium to large consoles, and about 12 inches for smaller models. Six-inch goosenecks are also available, but they have limited reach and need stronger bulbs to be efficient.
Bulb type: Choose a console light with a halogen or LED lamp to minimize power consumption and prevent overheating. Avoid incandescent or fluorescent lamps because they are bulky and tend to burn out easily. Look for one that can be fitted with dimmers to help you control brightness, especially in rooms with moving lights.
