TERRIBLE TRUMPET - LOOKS GOOD, DOESN'T WORK - K. Blaser, Feb 03, 2009

I purchased this item for my son, and should have known better since I was a professional musician for half my life. There is a GOOD reason this is so cheap... it is of unbelievably poor quality. It looks beautiful and can produce a decent tone once the valves are in position, but the valves do not work. They stick constantly, which is very frustrating for the beginner who is working hard on embouchure and fingering, only to find that it is hopeless since the valves are ridiculously non-responsive. Valve oil does not help. I'm a double reed player myself, so I had a professional trumpet player inspect the trumpet to get his advice, and he agrees it is absolutely worthless. Save your money and either rent something of higher quality, or spend the dough to get something better. I hope this review helps!!

I was skeptical before buying this but decided to take my chances. When I received it I was surprised. The finish was very good. It looks great. Came with a very sturdy carrying case. The sound it also good, will work well for the school band. Thumbs up.

This trumpet is great. It works perfectly and the valves work fine. ADVISE - If the valves dont fit back into place try seeing if the spring is tangled up or if your teacher can help ask the band teach. for help. Thank you Bye

the trumpet makes a great sound but the valves don't work. it does not matter how much valve oil I put into it the valves keep sticking to the bottom of the trumpet it got stuck once.don't buy this trumpet.

The trumpet came quickly and worked great. The only problem was that when I removed the first valve to clean it I put it back in and it did not lock in place. Other than that it was perfect. I named it Donald Trumpet!
