Guardian featherweight cases use an AxeGuard high-density polystyrene interior for excellent protection that remains lightweight. The interior is lined with a plush, non-scratch lining that protects a guitars finish. The exterior is made from DuraGuard nylon that is well-secured to the foam interior. These cases include an outside music pocket and an interior accessory pocket.

I had an old chipboard case that was just not cutting it after I got a geared 5th peg installed in my banjo. (The new peg would rub against the side of the case.)
I needed an inexpensive case that would fit my banjo and give good protection for storage at home.
The Guardian Featherweight case is actually more substantial than I was expecting. It has a very "chunky" form factor, and I am quite confident in the protection it affords the instrument.
The case IS very light, and is constructed of a polystyrene shell covered with nylon fabric. (The thickness of the polystyrene is such that the case has significant structural stiffness.) The interior is plush and soft. The fit and finish of the case are very nice and it has a very clean look.
This case will accommodate a banjo with guitar tuners and is intended to fit resonator banjos.
You could probably travel with this case if you were able to control how it is handled. My main concerns would be puncture or high crushing forces (neither of which this case is designed to handle.)
All in all, a great value.
