After spending countless hours searching for used trumpets and only finding junk for anything less than $200, I discovered the LJ Hutchen trumpet on Amazon, but was skeptical about the quality and buying from an online vendor.

My son had band camp coming up in a week so I bit the bullet and purchased online from Hyson Music and paid extra for 3 day shipping. Then I receive an email informing me that they were out of stock of this trumpet but they would substitute a new rose brass model at no extra cost. I quickly agreed. It arrived in time and my son now has a beautiful "new" trumpet for his first band experience.

Thanks Hyson Music and LJ Hutchen for providing a quality product for those of us that can't afford to spend $700+ on an instrument that will most likely only be used for a couple years.

In my son's third year playing trumpet, we needed to replace his first instrument. He is very happy with the tone and playability of this new trumpet. It seems better put together than the (much more expensive) rental model the music store had in stock, and it is certainly much more affordable than anything they offered to sell us.

I was very pleased with the customer service of this company. They are prompt and courteous.

There are clearly a lot of cheap junky instruments around - but this is NOT one of them. My daughter had a rental last year but we needs her own instrument as we are moving abroad. We were horrified by the prospect of paying $1,000 for a 'professional' item but just as terrified of wasting our money on cheap junk so I was very pleased to find a well-reviewed instrument at an affordable price. We were even more thrilled when the trumpet arrived. It looks good, plays well and is unbelievable value for money. I hope that this 'package' will encourage new players to pick up their own horns!

Fantastic experience dealing with Hyson Music in purchasing the LJ Hutchen Trumpet. My child is already an accomplished musician on keyboard, but just began learning trumpet in school band. As an alternative to renting his old beat up instrument again, I came upon this one. I had many questions during my pre-order research, and the people I talked with at Hyson (Jesse and Hutch) were very patient and helpful in answering my many questions. The instrument arrived in one day; looked great, and the package was very well protected.

Here are a few words directly from my musician child: "When I first got the LJ Hutchen Trumpet, I compared it to my other rented trumpet. The LJ Hutchen Trumpet had a much better tone than the rental. The LJ Hutchen Trumpet is able to easily play one of the hardest notes (a high C). The new trumpet made my average trumpet playing sound like a pro."

Our family loves LJ Hutchen instruments! - cake-oh, Jul 04, 2009

We started with an LJ Hutchen clarinet and loved it. We then bought an LJ Hutchen alto sax and loved that. We recently added an LJ Hutchen trumpet to our family of instruments. I have another child who wants to learn flute... so I will be buying an LJ Hutchen flute soon as well! And Hyson Music has been great to work with--great customer service and fast delivery.
