Basic maraca, quite loud, lots of fun - R. Anderson, Aug 14, 2007
This looks like a large baby's rattle, but the sound is quite loud. I bought it to complement the Hohner 6 piece rhythm set and it does so nicely. I received the blue ones. It came in a bag with a one page brochure with some suggested songs/chants to try with it, separated by age range.
Overall it seems pretty well made, and the noise is loud as one might expect. The size is larger that I thought they would be. I would estimate the round end to be almost as large as a tennis ball in diameter. The handles are comfortable to grasp.
My daughter also has some cheap ones from the Simba music set, but these Hohner ones are much louder.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for quality instruments for beginners.
