Fax paper is a form of thermal paper designed for use in facsimiles or fax machines. It is lightweight paper coated with a heat-sensitive coating on ones side; this coating is a colorless formula that develops an image with the application of heat. As it passes through the facsimile's imaging device, precise measures of heat is applied by the print head, causing a dark image on the fax paper to form. Fax paper usually comes in a roll and is available in different sizes for different types and models of fax machines.

Compatibility: Choose fax paper that is matched to the fax machine-- in size, grade, and preferably, brand-- to achieve an image that i fully developed.
Grade: Choose the grade appropriate for your use of the document. The higher the grade, the better the quality of the paper, and the higher the price. You can balance cost and quality by first determining what kind of documents you will be receiving from the fax machine and if they have to be stellar quality or just readable.
Roll: Choose a longer roll of fax paper, the longest that can fit into your fax machine,so that paper will not run out easily.
