Label : What is it?
| Labels are used to identify objects or distinguish them from other items in a group. They are printed with names, bar codes, serial numbers, and other forms of identification. They are commonly used in mail, shipping, product labeling, and keeping track of personal belongings. Most labels are self-adhesive and attach to any dry surface, although there are special types of adhesive designed for extreme temperatures. |

Absorption: Choose a label that absorbs ink quickly and holds it well. Make sure the ink will not smudge or run when rubbed or exposed to moisture. Smooth, shiny surfaces do not hold ink well and are not suitable for shipping, mailing, and long-term storage.
Adhesive: Choose a label with a strong adhesive to hold them on slippery surfaces, such as glass and plastic. Make sure the adhesive does not leave stains or marks on the surface when removed. Look for light, water-soluble adhesives for general labeling, and a thicker one for shipping and heavy applications. |
