Designed for bare surfaces and carpets, the Bissell Sturdy Sweep carpet sweeper keeps floors clear of dirt, lint, crumbs, and debris, all without the weight of an engine or the tether of a power cord. The unit operates quietly, using strategically placed brushes to sweep up particles into the generous twin dustpans. The central brush roll provides primary coverage in forward and reverse, while the four brushes at the edges attack areas close to baseboards. Lightweight in action, the sweeper has a slim handle that reclines to horizontal for reaching under beds and sofas and includes a comfortable no-slip grip. Needs a Different Handle Design! - Fran, Jan 12, 2008

This sweeper really does do a surprisingly good job picking up small debri for in-between cleanings. My only complaint (and it's a big one!) is that the handle is in three pieces that WILL NOT stay together. I am constantly dropping part of the handle and putting it back together while using it. I finally got fed up and put some glue reinforced by tape around the sections. If not for that it would get 5 stars!

just average; good for picking up little stuff on the carpet in between; but not too big or pet hair - will not work.

I have purchase two of the Bissell sweepers; one for my home and the other for the office. I use it to pick up various things that get tracked in on the floor and snacks dropped by by 2 year old. Sometimes it is not practical to run a noisy vacuum cleaner during business hours so it perfect for tidying up.

As far as the complaints with the handle, I have had no problems with the two I have purchased. However, you do need to tamp the handle down firmly to prevent it from coming apart. The garage floor worked best for me.

This sweeper works great when you are trying to be quiet or just dont want to get out the big guns. Picks up those little things really well. I just love my little Bissell.
