A squeegee is a cleaning tools designed with a plastic or metal handle and a flat, smooth blade made of rubber. It is used for removing or controlling the flow of liquid on flat surfaces such as on windows, floors, and tables. The rubber blade's flexibility allows it to be controlled easily and quickly. The handle can be adjusted for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. A squeegee is also used in screen and photography printing.
Types Of Squeegees
Kinds of Squeegees include the following:
Window squeegee
A window squeegee has a short, lightweight handle and a flexible rubber blade.
A standard window squeegee has a single blade, while an advanced model can feature two to three rubber blades.
The blade has to be replaced after a certain period.
It can have a plastic, stainless steel, aluminum, or brass handle.
Floor squeegee
A floor squeegee is used for removing stains, liquid spills, and dirt on the floor.
It has a long handle that allows cleaning hard-to-reach floor areas such as under the couch or along narrow crevices.
It can have a straight or curved rubber blade.
A straight blade is ideal for cleaning wide, flat surfaces.
A curved blade, on the other hand, is suited for cleaning corners and hard-to-reach-floor areas.
Choosing Squeegees (Buying Tips)
Durometer measurement: Choose a squeegee with a durometer measurement (hardness or stiffness) suited for the type of surfaces you intend to clean. For cleaning sensitive surfaces that scratch easily, get a squeegee with a soft durometer. This type of squeegee, however, may not be able to effectively remove stains because it transmits less effort. For cleaning durable surfaces resistant to scratches or pressure, choose a squeegee with a high durometer.
Weight: Choose a squeegee with a plastic handle, as it is light enough to be easily controlled and used. It prevents muscle or back strain while cleaning.
