Aquarium tables are low, floor-standing aquariums that serve as decorative tables. Sometimes called water tables, they usually have wide, removable tops for stability and easier maintenance. They are commonly used as coffee or end tables, because they are too delicate to be made into full-size dining tables. They are available in different shapes, such as round, square, and octagon.
Stability: Choose an aquarium table with a wide, sturdy base. Look for one with a hard base, such as solid wood or metal, separating the tank from the floor. Make sure the base firmly grips the floor to keep the table from slipping. Maintenance: Choose an aquarium table with a freshwater system for easier maintenance. Saltwater aquariums are more expensive to maintain and require frequent cleaning and water replacement. Make sure the pump, filters, and other accessories can be cleaned from inside the tank.
