Choosing Cat Foods (Buying Tips)

Nutritional requirements: Choose cat food with any of the following in its ingredients to ensure balanced nutrition: water, fatty acids, enzymes, minerals, protein, and taurine.

Label information:
Choose cat food that specifically lists down its protein source such as turkey, chicken, or lamb instead of a generic “meat.” Check the expiration date to make sure it is still good to eat.

Low ash content: Choose cat food with low ash content to prevent your cat from getting urinary blockages and urinary tract infections.

Cat age: For feeding a young cat, choose cat food with a high-calorie content cat food. For senior cats, on the other hand, cat food with low mineral content is best.

Ingredients to avoid: Avoid cat food with the following ingredients, as they can harm your cat or aggravate existing health problems: animal digest/by-products/meal, filler corn meal, propyl gallate, ethoxyquin, BHT, BHA, and carbohydrate fillers.
