Kinds of Bicycle Tires include the following:

Tubular Bicycle Tires

Tubular bike tires are mainly used for race bicycles. They are made of lightweight rubber ideal for fast and aggressive riding. They are bead-free and are made of two separate parts sewn together. Tubular tires have inner tubes fitted in bicycle rims using special cement.

Clincher Bicycle Tires

Clincher tires arethe traditional types of bicycle tires. They are also the most common. Unlike tubular tires, clincher tires have folding fabric or metal beads. They come with fabric casings and inner tubes. Some types are made of puncture-proof Kevlar layers.

Mountain Bicycle Tires

Mountain bike tires are made of natural rubber and are designed specifically for mountain bicycles. They have ramped edges and center knobs that allow riders to break easily and prevent bicycle from rolling off. They have special exterior tractions suitable for riding on mud, sand, or soil surfaces.

Bmx Bicycle Tires

BMX tires are specifically designed for BMX bicycles. They are smaller and narrower, making them ideal for doing flips and tricks. They are treaded for trail, track, and dirt jumping. They have side lugs for better cornering. BMX tires are also made with staggered center lugs fitted close to one another. This allows riders to control their speeds.

Choosing Bicycle Tires (Buying Tips)

Use. Choose bicycle tires that are appropriate for your riding style and bicycle. Consider treaded and knobbed tires if you are into mountain biking or off-road biking. They give you more traction and support, preventing you from slipping or falling off when you encounter muddy terrain.

Materials. Natural rubber bike tires are lightweight and strong enough to withstand extended use. Regularly check your bicycle tires for holes, punctures, rips, or tears.

Tire pressure. Check your bicycle tire pressure regularly. Higher air pressure is ideal for riding fast and lower air pressures is good for leisure riding.
