Dart flights determine how fast the dart can go. Also known as ‘dart feathers,’ because they were originally made using natural feathers, dart flights are now usually made of plastic or rubber, making them stronger and more powerful.
A standard dart flight is designed for a medium weight dart weighing 24 to 26 grams and for a heavyweight dart weighing 27 grams or more. It measures four-and-a-half centimeters long.
Mini dart flight
A mini dart flight is smaller and lighter than a standard dart flight. It is designed for a lighter dart for stability. It measures three-and-a -half centimeters long. Mini Dart Flights usually have less air resistance.
Slim dart flight
A slim dart flight is designed for a lightweight dart weighing 14 to 26 grams. It strikes the board with the shaft pointing down.
Length: Choose a longer dart flight for a heavyweight dart and a shorter dart flight for a lightweight dart. If you are a beginner, start off with the shortest flight you are comfortable with.
Flight protectors: Choose a dart flight that comes with a protector, which prevents an incoming dart from damaging a dart that is already stuck on the board.
