Stake net fishing nets
A stake net is used to catch salmon. It consists of a network of nets stretched on stakes that are fixed on the ground. It is generally used in rivers or where the sea flows inland.
Trammel fishing nets
A trammel sits vertically in the water. It is composed of three layers. The inner layer is made up of a finer mesh compared to the outer layers.
Trawl fishing nets
A trawl is a large cone-shaped net towed along the bottom of the sea by a fishing boat.
Regulations: Before buying a fishing net, determine the type allowed in the area you want to fish. Check the area or the state's current marine fishing regulations.
Absorbency: Choose a fishing net that does not absorb too much water to prevent it from becoming too heavy to pull in and from wearing out easily.
