Folding Table : What is it?

Folding can be folded up for easy storage and transport. They usually consist of a lightweight tabletop supported on legs made of plastic or aluminum tubing. They are commonly used as temporary tables on camping, hiking, and other outdoor trips. In most models, the legs fold together and into the tabletop, often with a lock feature to prevent the table from unfolding while in transport.

Kinds of Folding Tables include the following:

Wood

Wooden folding tables have tops made of particle board or plywood, supported on steel or wooden legs. The tabletops are about 5/8 inch thick and are usually covered with a tough exterior, such as fabric,vinyl, or plastic.

Plastic

Plastic Folding Tables are have blow-molded or polyethylene plastic tabletops and usually aluminum legs. They are very light and easy to carry, but generally less durable and stable than other countertop types.

Laminate

Laminate Folding Tables are made up of highly compressed layers of kraft paper or wood, covered with a waterproof plastic top.  The tops are about ¾ inch thick and come in a wide range of colors. They are very durable and can withstand frequent use and hot temperatures, but are heavier than other types and may be hard to transport.

Aluminum

Aluminum Folding Tables are made of aircraft-grade aluminum, a lightweight and extremely durable metal. They are very rigid and can hold weights of up to 1,500 pounds.
They are ideal for outdoor use, because they will not rust and can withstand environmental factors such as rain and heat.

Choosing Folding Tables (Buying Tips)

Stability: Choose a folding table that can remain steady on uneven surfaces, such as rocky ground. Make sure it will not wobble get blown over by high winds. Look for one with wide feet and a symmetrical design to help maintain the table's balance.

Durability: Choose a folding table that is rustproof and heat-resistant, especially if you will be using it outdoors. Make sure it can withstand all sorts of abuse such as exposure to hot dishes, spills, and heavy loads.
