Gaited horse trail saddle
A gaited horse trail saddle is suitable for a gaited horse with a high wither. It is often used for trailing. Most models have trees made of fiberglass-covered wood with gaited horse bars, and are four inches in cantle height, one-and-a-half inches in Cheyenne roll height, and eight inches in gullet width. Gaited horse trail saddles commonly have stainless steel dees rigging.
Most models have seat jockeys, leather front cantles, nylon skirts, housings, and fenders.
Gaited horse endurance saddle
A gaited horse endurance saddle is suitable for serious trailing and endurance riding.
It is made up of a light saddle skirt and double padded seat. Most models have trees made of tuff-cover wood ideal for gaited horses, and have seven-inch gullet width, five-inch cantle height, and 24-inch skirt. Some gaited horse endurance saddles have lightweight and shock absorbent metal stirrups. |
Tree: Choose a gaited horse saddle with a tree made of fiberglass-covered wood for exceptional durability. For additional strength, you can have the wood tree wrapped in bull hide instead of fiberglass.
Padded seat: Look for a gaited horse saddle with a padded and slick leather seat for more comfort and protection. You can choose a padded seat made of synthetic materials or real wool fleece.
Shock absorbency: To prevent the impact of mild bumps and hits, choose gaited horse saddle with a seat made of shock absorbing foam cushion. |
