Golf cart rims or wheels are circular frames that provide the primary mechanical propulsion for golf carts. Although most golf carts come with built-in rims, many users opt for custom-made rims to give their carts a more unique look. They range from 10 to 14 inches and are usually made of steel, aluminum, or chrome. Golf cart rims are usually fitted with rubber tires to protect them from the wear and tear of regular use.
Modular rims have solid centers in single or multiple-part constructions. They are held together by a number of bolts and lug nuts, usually arranged in two concentric circles.
Durability: Choose a golf cart rim that can withstand frequent use and high amounts of stress and abuse. Look for those made of tough rigid metals, preferably treated for impact and bend resistance. If you are getting spoked rims, make sure the spokes are thick and properly attached. For modular rims, the lug nuts should be tight and evenly spaced. Installation: Choose a golf cart rim that you can easily install and replace on your own. Lightweight and simply constructed models usually work best. Make sure the rim comes with clear installation instructions to guide you through the process.
