Golf socks, also known as ‘five-eighths hoses’, are thick sports socks made of superior quality fabrics that provide durability, shape retention, comfort, and protection. They come in different lengths ranging from ankle- to knee-length. Most golf socks are breathable and can absorb moisture.
Golf clubs usually require their members and guest golf players to wear socks that do not go beyond two inches above the heels of the shoes.
Cotton Golf Socks are made of 100% cotton. Some socks are combined with nylon, polyester, and Lycra. They are soft, durable and have superior fitting. They breathe and absorb moisture to keep the feet dry and cool. Most Cotton Golf Socks have shape retention features.
Acrylic Golf Socks are made mostly of acrylic and small percentages of nylon, rubber, and polyester. Advanced models are made using engineered acrylic fibers that make them breathable. They minimize the production of too much sweat and bacterial growth.
Modern (scientific) golf socks
Modern golf socks are made of technologically advanced fabrics with abrasion resistance, soft cushion padding, and superior ventilation. They also have small percentages of MicroSupreme fabrics that provide extra comfort and protection. These fabrics have tetra-channel fibers that eliminate moisture from the outer layer of the socks. These scientific golf socks are expensive and not readily available in the market.
