Hockey gloves protect the wrists and hands and reduce chances of injury. They also allow the hockey player to get a good grip on the hockey stick and protect the hands from the cold and frostbite. Hockey gloves are usually categorized as Youth (eight, nine, and 10 inches), Junior (11 and 12 inches), Intermediate (13 inches), and Senior (14 and 15 inches).
Traditional hockey gloves that go up to the elbows protect the hands, wrists, and elbows. However, they have very little padding and may not give enough protection during rough plays.
