Lob wedges are golf clubs with high lofts, usually between 58 and 68 degrees. They are commonly used for making finesse shots onto the green and over obstacles, and for hitting the ball from the rough, fairway, or bunkers. They are preferred by players who want to stop the ball quickly or strike it high into the air. Lob wedges are newly developed clubs that can be difficult to use effectively. They have the same amount of bounce gap wedges have, but they are more versatile and easier to cut under the ball.
Nickel Lob Wedges are made up of a soft inner core and a hard, strengthened exterior. They have a dull finish that gives them a traditional look. The dull finish also reduces glare.
Rusty Lob Wedges are made of untreated steel that can rust over time. They provide a softer feel, reduce more glare, and generate more spins than Chrome Lob Wedges. However, they are the least durable among all the lob wedges. Rusty Lob Wedges are ideal for intermediate golf players.
Loft: Choose a lob wedge that with a loft of not more than 60 degrees. A lob wedge with a higher loft is more difficult to master. Bounce angle: Get a lob wedge with a bounce angle of eight to 13 degrees for easy playing without deeply digging into the turf.
