powerrack1

Power racks hold and support barbells and are recommended by sports doctors when working with free weights. Usually made of a heavy gauge steel frame, a typical power rack stands eight to nine feet in height and can be extended to one to two feet taller if used with pull-up handles. It consists of two or four posts with movable handle bar catchers on each side of the poles for carrying the barbell when it is dropped onto the side bars, an adjustable safety spot bar, a hook bar with a two-point locking system, and a multi-grip pull-up bar.  The different levels of the side bars allow the lifter to lift the barbell from different positions

Power racks help increase strength and improve control, speed, and power. It is commonly used for performing over-head presses, squats, bench presses, military or front presses, incline bench presses, and snatch presses.  It is also used for practicing partial presses, partial squats, and partial deadlifts.
