Product Description

A sharp knife is the chef's best friend. A sharpening tool will keep them that way. Use this tool regularly and you need never injure yourself with a dull blade. It realigns the cutting edge.

Amazon.com Review

Sharpen your knives precisely to your own needs, just as professional chefs do. Edgecrafter's ultimate sharpening stone uses 100% diamond abrasives. To use, simply hold a knife at a 25-degree angle, and rub it in circles across the stone for a razor-sharp edge. The stone sharpens knives, chisels, and shop blades made of any material, including tungsten carbide, ceramic, stone, tool steel, and stainless steel. Diamonds don't wear, so no maintenance is required, and the surface will never become uneven. The stone has a precision hardwood cover and base with rubber feet for a secure hold. --Linda Dahlstrom

Good sharpener for the money - Wizard, Jan 30, 2008

Reasonably priced and it does a great job keeping my chef's knife nice and sharp. Comes in a nice wooden case with rubber feet to keep it from sliding on the countertop.

Diamond Sharpening Stone - Alfred J. Mancinelli, Dec 17, 2007

I used this product as soon as it arrived to sharpen my "dull" steak knives. What a difference! They were as sharp as the day I bought them when I was done. The instructions were very clear and the process was extremely easy.

Everyone needs it in the Kitchen - Bobbarita, Jun 27, 2007

This is a great way to keep your knives sharp. The instructions for sharpening are a bit complicated, so I watched some "tutorials" on the Internet before using the stone. It works well and is attractively packaged in a wooden case, the bottom adheres to your counter when you use it. It's great to see and feel the difference between dull and sharp.

Oil is not reqired before sharpening, and does a quick job on our kitchen knives.

Yes! - Aaron Contorer, Jan 07, 2005

This is a single stone (rather than a complicated series of stones) that gets the job done better than a much more costly electric sharpener. If you wish your knives were sharper, but don't want to become a professional knife maintenance technician, it's a nice choice. I like mine.

Bear in mind that with a sharpening stone, YOU are responsible for holding the knife at the correct angle; there are no safety features; and you'll still want to use a honing steel (that long metal rod with a handle) after sharpening.
