This motor carrier rocks! I would rather call it a motor "dolly" but it is perfect for my 8hp yamaha. By the way, west marine stopped selling this product this year, and their new motor dolly is terrible. its heavy, cumbersome and won't roll on grass. This motor dolly will, so the decision makers at west marine are smoking grass! By the way, I will say one thing negative about this product, and its that the assembly directions are horrid, terrible... must have been made by some ex-west marine employees! You will spend way too much time reading the assembly instructions, trying to figure them out. Man fire that guy! Anyways this stand is solid, mobile, and I would buy it again and again!, just need a few stiff drinks to assemble, thats all!

This product is stronger in supporting the weight of an outboard than I expected (i.e., from a tubular metal framework), even though the specifications alone suggested it was adequate for my motor (10 horse outboard).

The Garelick 31600 motor carrier is rated for 130 pounds capacity. I bought it for use with a 74 pound motor, but after putting it together, I have no doubt that it can handle its capacity. It is very sturdy and well designed.

The carrier is easy to assemble using a hammer, adjustable wrench and Philips screw driver. The instructions are clear and accurately and clearly illustrated. I assembled it in my living room sitting in a La-Z-Boy and working on the floor in front of me in about 20 minutes. At first the number of parts seemed a little overwhelming, but it all came together quickly. All the necessary parts and fasteners were included, and nothing was missing from the package. All the pre-drilled holes were accurate and in the right locations.

I expect to get many years of service out of this item and would recommend it. I'm impressed with its level of quality...and it saves my back!
