This ain't your mother's Revere Ware! It's NOT 18-10 Stainless, it's thinner metal,
and it's made in CHINA - not the USA as the new corporate conglomerate wants
you to think. (the original "Revere Ware" company ceased US production years
ago and only the "brand name" is now owned by World Kitchen, LLC. 2006)

Besides being 'burned' by this faux-patriotism, you will likely be actually burned
by the incredibly bad design of the dinky phenolic-resin lid actuator as the tender
back of your fingers contact the boiling-hot steel top! (maybe only tiny chinese
underage olympic hands fit properly...?)

The single fill/pour hole is only ~1.25" diameter and the lid will only open ~45 deg.
relative to horizontal - so good luck filling this from either a filtered fridge dispenser
or poured from another container. Also, the spring-loaded lid will not remain in an
open position - which prevents the pot from thoroughly drying inside.

Amazon has other, better choices - browse on! (we purchased this from Amazon
and are returning it. [3.5 qt model #3535017]

I've had some bad kettles - mostly because of bad craftsmanship and poor design. This one so far is good. The handle does get hot if you have your flame up to high or if you leave it whistle for more than a minute, but over all I am happy with it.

This is the best kettle out there. The others I tried either boiled over because the spout angle was too shallow, had an effective smaller capacity because of the boil over, or did not whistle. Some kettles had all three weaknesses. The only draw-back with kettle is that eventually the little plastic lever breaks and you have to buy a whole new kettle, but until that happens it is by far the best one out there. It even heats rapidly.

I recently bought this 3.5 qt. Revere ware tea kettle for my parents. Their last tea kettle was another brand and the spout cover broke off after only 6 months of use. It also did something very dangerous - once the water was boiling, as you started to pour, the water would burst out of the spout. Almost like it was exploding out of the tea kettle.

This tea kettle does not do that. You put the tea kettle on the fire, bring to a boil, it whistles, you remove from the heat and pour the water. Simple and safe.

There is only one complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The lever that pulls the spout cover open is underneath the handle. My mother says she has to be careful not to touch the HOT tea kettle when opening the cover to pour hot water. Other than that, she and my father are very happy with it.

The classic Revere whistling teapot is a piece of Americana, I remember one we had when I was a child, it lasted forever. This one was made in China, so much for the Americana; sort of like importing Mom's apple pie from Mexico. I'd gladly pay twice what I paid if I could find one made in America. The pot arrived in a timely manner and works ok but it's just not the same.
