I was used to living the in the city and have recently moved to the country and now realize how dark it can get. This flashlight dispels all doubt as to what is out there in the dark. It really has to be one of the best flashlight/spotlights I've owned. It does weigh more than you might expect--about 6 lbs--but it's got a good hefty feel to it. It is large, but not cumbersome. The rubber grip handle is sized right for large hands. The flashlight is weighted so that is hangs level on the shoulder strap, freeing up both hands.

The small led light in the handle is more than bright enough for indoor/outdoor use, and when you need to light something up at extreme distances the main light is super bright. The main lamp uses a standard car headlight lamp (H4) and just like leaving the car lights on will drain a car battery in short order so this light will drain its two 6volt sealed lead-acid batteries in about 20 to 30 minutes. Personally, if I can't get it done or get to where I need to be in 30 minutes I'm going to wait till the next morning or get a shop light to see what I'm doing. I've not drained the battery with the led light, but I would imagine that it would take days.

It charges in about 24 hours on the AC wall wart, but can be charged in 5 to 6 hours in the car from the included DC power cord. It can also be used as a portable DC power supply to charge cell phones and run small 12v appliances. Replacement parts--lamp, batteries, power supply/power cords--are easy to find and due to its plastic construction should last many years. I absolutely recommend this product.

The product works as described. The lens is smaller than similar products which produces a smaller light circle. I believe that it will not make a difference.
