2 1/4 in. closed. Silver Alox Features blade, scissors, nail file with screwdriver tip and keyring. After a long hike up a mountain side, feast on a rejuvenating snack of sliced salami and cheddar, cut with this essential Swiss Army knife from Victorinox. The original manufacturer of Swiss Army Knives, Victorinox has crafted high-quality cutlery in Switzerland since 1884. With five features, the Swiss Army Classic SD model is the perfect choice to tote on a day hike, picnic in the park, or in a coat pocket for regular daily use. The Classic SD includes a knife blade, scissors, nail file with screwdriver tip, tweezers, and a key ring. Hand finished by the skilled cutlers at Victorinox, the Classic SD blade is crafted in high-carbon stainless steel for increased hygiene, balance, and permanence. The blade construction resists rusting, staining, and pitting while maintaining sharpness. The blade is stamped from a single sheet and tempered using a unique procedure that creates durable edges that can withstand frequent re-sharpening over years of use. After tempering, the blade is ground, polished, etched with the Victorinox emblem, and finished. The blade and additional features fold into ribbed silver alox casing with rust-resistant aluminum alloy separators. Brass rivets secure the layers of the Classic SD together for years of use. Victorinox offers a lifetime warranty for defective parts or errors in workmanship. Upon shipping, this weighs one pound. --Jessica Reuling Average Rating of 5.00 out of 9 reviews
Rating : Great every day knife. - B. Marshall, Jan 29, 2008
If you carry one of these, you'll forget you have it. The Alox are extremely thin. High quality.
Rating : Great little knife. - David Zweben, Dec 08, 2007
The first thing that struck me when I got this knife is that it was very thin. I believe the lack of a toothpick and tweezers makes it slightly thinner than most Swiss Army knives; it fits nicely on a keychain and is darn good to have around. It's quite sturdy feeling, pretty nice looking, and best of all, it's cheap. I think it would make a good stocking stuffer.
Rating : A Perfect Little Knife, Great Swiss Quality......... - N. Zant, Sep 08, 2007
The review by "Barry" was right on. After reading the review I realized this was the little knife I wanted. I did not need the tweezers and toothpick. The little knife is quite small and as noted not as thick as the regular Classic Swiss Knife. It is top quality and well made...

Rating : great pocket knife - Thomas J. Welsh, Jul 15, 2007
I gcarry this knife with the one key I use at work all the time. Lightweight, use it at least 10 times a day to cut something, file a hangnail, tighten a small screw. Chicks dig me when show them my blade. TW.
Rating : really Great little knife - Barry, May 31, 2007
This knife is missing the toothpick and tweezers when compared to the regular version with plastic scales. But what you get instead is a knife that is only ONE HALF as thick! Besides, who uses the toothpick or tweezers anyway. 99.9% of the functionality of this knife is in the 3 main tools. This thing is so amazingly slender that you can carry it around in your front pocket all day every day and never even feel that it is there. It will not rub in an irritating way like most things carried in pockets. Also it will never show a bump in your pants.
The fine aluminum scales look sleek and elegant and are even suitable for engraving. The scales are well textured without being abrasive and provide a secure, comfortable grip. It is the perfect executive pocket knife (except that it is not overpriced). It is also the perfect pocket companion for people who don't want or like to carry a pocket knife, but still may need to open a package or envelope, trim a loose thread, clean a fingernail or turn a screw once in a while. Let's face it, tool use is what sets us apart from the beasts. Mine has been carried daily for 7 years and still looks perfectly new. I sharpen it when needed and it will shave hair. The only time I do not carry this knife is when I want to have a pen on me. In that case I carry the similar Signature knife with retractable pen and tweezers. With either of these great pocket companions at hand, my life is made a little easier and more pleasant each day.
These comments are in no way a disparagement of the standard plastic Classic knife, of which I have several. That is also a great product. I just feel that the Alox version takes a great concept to it's ultimate refinement. If they tripled the price, I would still be a fan.
