I have carried the Classic knife for over 10 years, and this one which is basically a Classic with a pen for the last 6 years. I lost one and had another taken at the airport and feel lost without the retractable ink pen, file and scissors. Victorinox tweezers are the BEST for getting out splinters!!

If you have ever been caught at a check out desk or some place in need of a pen and no one has one, then this knife is for you.

The other day I was at the check out line of the supermarket, and when I went to sign the credit slip, I couldn't as the casher has lost her pen. I then whipped out my keychain with this on it and quickly signed the form and was on my way.

I highly recommend it for situations like this.

I have bought over 20 of these knives. I trim my nails, open packages, write notes, tighten screws, and strip wire (great for stripping wire). You can buy replacement toothpicks and pens. I put toothpicks in place of the twizzers. I have never used the twizzers in 30 years. I can use the toothpick a couple times a day. I would love to see a thinner version with an LED, toothpick and pen.

Airport security keeps taking my knives. Remember to remove the pen and toothpick if they do take it. The pen just pulls out.

This is the best most used tool I have ever owned.

I'm replacing my handy-dandy little Signature knife after 4 years. Nothing matches Victorinox quality. The blade in the knife and scissors cut through the toughest package tape. Though small, this knife is not a toy.

However, DO NOT LEND THIS KNIFE OUT TO ANYONE. I made that mistake and the first time it came back without the pen, and the second time w/o the tweezers. Under normal use I never found those parts fell out or were easily lost. I can only guess that they were tempting to play with, and one friend wanted to see if the pen was replaceable (it's not) and the other just used and lost the tweezers.

After 4 years of frequent use, the casing is starting to break so I'm getting another. My only complaint is that I have to remove it from my keyring when I fly.
