I have used many different water bottles over the years, I can honestly say that these bottles were the most disappointing product I have ever purchased in my life. I researched and selected the Zefal Magnums because they held 1L and had an extra wide mouth (for using ice cubes.) I had very high expectations and rightly so, they cost twice as much as any other bottle, you pay a premium for a premium product right?

Well guess again, They do hold 1L and you can put whole cubes in the bottles but when you take a drink they dribble and leak like crazy, they dribble from the mouth piece and leak from the rim.

I have tried all of the tricks that other Magnum supporters claim will work, like resetting the seal or not pulling the mouth piece out all the way but that never worked! And I shouldn't have to do any of that anyway, for the premium price I paid they should have worked without fail. I threw them away in anger just weeks after buying them because I was tired of getting Gatorade all over my Jersey's.

Maybe they have fixed this problem but I'll never spend another penny on Zefal water bottles... (They do make decent frame pumps.)

I just carry an extra Polar water bottle, Specialized ( and Performance Bike, I think they use Specialized bottles) usually make a decent bottle as well.

Zefal Magnums are garbage!

Some people gave these bottles a great review. One reviewer said they sucked and the bottles leaked. Well, he is right, these bottles leak around the mouthpiece when it is fully open. Very very annoying when you are riding and trying to take a drink.

While I carry two bottles on my bike, one is usually empty. But I was looking to replace the smaller ones I have been using for seven years. These are perfect.

This water bottle DOES LEAK! When the nozzle is opened up it will come out of the bottom of the nozzle as well as the top, getting water all over the place. And the worst part is that you can taste the plastic in the water from the water bottle if you leave it in the fridge over night or something. I have cleaned it out many times. The water will taste fine for an hour or so. But then it will taste noticebly different after a few hours. Gross.

I love this bottle because it holds 1 liter and fits any bike bottle carrier. Also it is easy to drink from it because you can squeeze it for better water flow. NO LEAKING AT ALL, you can put them inside your camping bag and be sure that they would not leak a single drop. I have a pair of them since 2002 and I like them so much that I buy 4 more for my other activities as hiking and tennis. Also the price is very low compared to other bottles, and you get a high quality bottle. But remember that 1 lt = 1kg (2 lb), so the more water it holds, the more it weights. I Use two of them in my hip pack and I get used to the weight easily, when im riding my bike I dont even notice them. I REALLY recommend this bottle.
