Kinds of Putters include the following:

Blade Putters

Blade Putters are narrow, flat, and short. They provide the best feel in putting among all putter types because of their flat design. They provide a lot of feedback to the golfer after the ball has been struck. Blade Putters are ideal for low handicappers. Their shafts enter the heads.

Mallet Putters

Mallet Putters have large and rounded heads. Most models have half-moon shapes. Their weight is evenly distributed, providing the golfer with consistent stokes.

Perimeter Weighted Putters

Perimeter Weighted Putters have a forgiving design. Their weight is evenly distributed around the edges, providing large sweet spots on the club faces. They stabilize incorrect hits on the ball when putting. Perimeter Weighted Putters are ideal for beginner golfers and high handicappers.

Insert Putters

Insert Putters feature composite inserts usually made of soft materials. They have a sleek and lightweight design. They provide a better feel when than other putters. Most models help define the sweet spots of the clubs.

Offset Putters

Offset Putters have heads slightly set back from the shafts. They allow the golfer to look directly over of the ball when standing over the putt. They are designed to increase the ball's top spin and get it rolling quickly.

Types according to length

Conventional Putters

Conventional Putters measure 36 inches long. They are the most common putters used by golfers in terms of length. They require the golfer's natural arm swinging motion to move them.

Belly Putters

Belly Putters measure 41 inches long. They are becoming more popular than the Conventional Putters. They are called as such because their ends are usually stuffed into the belly button before swinging them from the back to the front. Belly Putters help stabilize strokes.

Long Putters

Long Putters, also known as broom handle putters, measure 45 inches long. They are also popular putters. They are stabilized by pressing their tops against the chest or resting them on the chin. Long Putters or broom handle putters swing back and forth like a pendulum.

Choosing Putters (Buying Tips)

Feel: Choose a putter with a good and comfortable feel to give you confidence in swinging and putting.

Length:
Choose a putter with a length appropriate to your height and body frame. A putter that is too long or too short can throw off the view of the putting line. A putter with the proper length should stand just above the top of your hand when you are in a regular putting stance.
