Ski Goggle : What is it?
| Ski goggles are the protective eyewear worn for skiing. They are large glasses made up of shatterproof polycarbonate lenses and soft and flexible frames. They are attached to elastic straps secured around the skier’s head. Ski goggles provide UV protection from the sun’s rays made even powerful by the combination of high altitude and reflection. UV rays can damage the eyes and cause snow blindness. Ski goggles are used to prevent ice particles from getting into the eyes, as they can irritate them and cause temporary blindness. They also serve as shields from flying objects such as twigs that can hit the face when skiing through heavily wooded areas. |

Anti-fog feature: Choose ski goggles with two or multiple layers of lenses to prevent fogging.
Lenses: Choose ski goggles with polarized lenses for glare reduction.
Peripheral vision: Choose ski goggles that allow you a 180-degree peripheral vision to help you see the other skiers coming up at your side.
Tint: Choose tinted ski goggles to help you see better in different lighting and skiing conditions. Black lenses are best for glare reduction in bright and sunny conditions. Green or silver lenses enhance contrast, making it also ideal for bright conditions. Yellow, amber, and gold lenses bring out shadows and filter out blue light, which make them suitable for low to moderate light. Get ski goggles with purple or rose lenses to bring out the contours and shadows in low-light conditions.
