Guide to Snowboard Goggles

Snowboard Goggle : What is it?

Snowboardgoggles1

Snowboard goggles are the large, protective eyewear used in snowboarding made with shatterproof carbon lenses, hard plastic frames, and elastic bands that go around the head. They protect the eyes from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays, as they hit the eyes harder while on the snow due to the combination of high altitudes and the snow’s reflection. They are also worn to protect the eyes from snow, ice particles, twigs, and other flying objects that can hit the eyes and face while snowboarding.

Choosing Snowboard Goggles (Buying Tips)

Anti-fog:  Choose snowboard goggles with multiple layer of lenses to reduce the chances of fogging.  Also, look for those that have been treated with anti-fogging chemicals or those with vents at the top and bottom of the lenses.

UV protection:  For effective UV protection, choose snowboard goggles with at least 95% UV protection.

Peripheral vision:
For safety, choose snowboard goggles that give you 180 degrees peripheral vision, so you can see if there are snowboarders approaching you at the sides.
