Snowboarding rails are long elevated metal bars with flat or rounded surfaces used by freestyle snowboarders for performing tricks along with other “terrains” such as half-pipes and funboxes. Usually found in terrain parks, they are also used for grinding or sliding across from one end to the other. Snowboard rails are suitable for experienced snowboarders only, as they can be difficult for beginners to use. Caution must be observed when treading on the rails because hitting the solid steel pipes hurt more and cause more serious injuries than landing in a snowbank.
