Shaft length: Choose a speargun with a shaft length suitable for that type of fishing you do. For long range fishing, choose a speargun with a longer shaft. Get one with a shorter shaft for easy maneuverability.
Shaft diameter: Look for a speargun with a shaft diameter of 9/32 inches if you want speed and a lower mass. It also has less momentum, preventing its tip and shaft from being damaged especially if you hit on a hard surface such as reefs.
