Weight racks are open containers used to hold and store weight plates. They are commonly found in public and home gyms, where they keep the weights off the floor to prevent people from tripping and to protect the floor from scratches and dents. Most weight racks are designed to hold more than one plate size and weight.
Vertical Weight Racks, or weight trees, consist of several small rods jutting out from one or two center poles. The plates are placed on the branches, usually with each rod holding a set of standard weights.
Horizontal
Horizontal Weight Racks are set on the floor and hold plates side by side. They usually consist of two or more racks in different sizes to fit different plate widths.
Capacity: Choose a weight rack that can hold all of your weight plates. Look for one with slots for all standards sizes and weights, especially if you have a large collection. Leave some room for additional plates you may acquire to prevent the rack from getting overloaded over time.
Size: Make sure your weight rack fits well into your home or gym and does not take up too much floor space. Horizontal racks usually hold more, but also take up a lot of space and may not be ideal for small spaces.
